How to Speed Up Metabolism

I would like to share with the readers some tips on how to speed up metabolism without the need to punish yourself with strenuous exercises. Fitness experts maintain that knowing how to speed up metabolism is one of the best ways to burn the calories that becomes stored fat in your body cells.

By this learning, it meant I do not have to deprive myself of energy giving foods that contains calories. I only have to balance them with a method on how to speed up metabolism in my body system. I used to be overweight at 190 pounds and was already on my way to becoming obese because I really did have a penchant for food. It is not that I was not active but the heavier I became, the more difficult it was for me to exercise because of my body weight.

A friend recommended that I supplement my minimal exercises with foods that speed up my metabolism in order to prevent additional calories from being stored further in my body

Here are the tips I learned on how to speed up metabolism :

1. Eat as much protein as you can instead of high calorie foods. Proteins have a thermic effect which can cause whatever calories you consume to burn as metabolism speeds up. By dealing with mostly protein, your digestive system has to work harder in order to process the protein intakes you supply your system. Hence, this answers how to speed up metabolism by eating protein.

2. Examples of protein food that can satiate your hunger and speed up your metabolism:

? Fish and seafood but avoid large fish caught in contaminated areas.

? Chicken meat and eggs but do not fry them. Boil the eggs or poach them but limit your diet to just one egg in a day.

? Lean meat from cattle that was raised with organic or natural foods; avoid meat from cows that were fed corn and artificial feeds. Their meat does not have enough nutrients to supply your body?s needs.

3. Eat only good fats as your source of energy or calories. This means you should choose your carbohydrate sources wisely.

To make it easy on yourself on knowing what the good carbohydrates are, follow the rainbow colored fruits and vegetables in the food pyramid. Spinach, bell-peppers, celery, peaches, apples, berries pears are only a few.

The bad carbohydrates are simply those that are sugar based like cookies, bread, rolls, pasta, tacos, chocolate and processed foods like sausages, hot dog, frankfurters, cooked meats, and cold cuts, sodas and other foods that contain corn syrup.

4. If you are still overweight, do cardio exercises because they are mild enough but can speed up metabolism. The best of the cardio exercises is brisk walking which you should do everyday.

5. If you have started to lose weight, it is important to get into some strength exercises that can tone up your muscles and naturally trim the loosened skin.

6. In order to hasten your weight loss and if you can already manage your weight without feeling too fatigued, do some intense cardio exercises like running, jogging or swimming.

Now if you will believe me the way that I believed my friend who went from 220 pounds to 130 pounds, you can also achieve the same weight loss we achieved. I was 190 pounds and am already down to 130 pounds. The key is to go about your weight loss naturally by simply eating the suggested foods and doing the exercises as part of your daily habit or lifestyle. In time, you will notice certain changes.

Stop checking your weighing scale every so often because you will only make yourself feel impatient. How to speed up your metabolism and lose weight naturally should become a habit and not a weight loss regimen. In time, you will benefit from all its weight loss effects.

I agree with everything you mentioned. I try to make sure I snack throughout the day. I have always been slightly overweight and I have tried all kinds of diets but the main thing I have always been told is if you starve your body then the nect time you eat your body trys to store it as fat.
