Exercise weight loss method
There is a worldwide concern for the rising number of people who are considered as overweight and obese. Most major countries which include the U.S., UK, Canada, Eastern Europe, China, and Japan are greatly concerned about the rising statistics in obesity. How can this be dealt with from a natural weight loss exercise perspective ?
Canada has expressed more than alarm since previous surveys categorized a part of its population only as overweight; but later surveys disclosed that most of these overweight are now currently classified as obese. Accordingly, only 10 % showed improvement of being re-classified as normal weight from their previous overweight classification.
Since most obese individuals tend to suffer from certain health disorders due to their excessive weight, the need to lose weight should be addressed by natural weight loss methods.
Natural Weight Loss by Exercise
At the time when the issue about obesity epidemic was getting much attention, several diet programs gained popularity as a means of losing weight. However, the lack of permanent results, the debilitating effect and the high costs of keeping up with the regimen slowly eroded the popularity of these weight loss methods.
Studies were conducted and revealed that weight loss should deal more with the matter of speeding up metabolism or the process of burning calories instead of starving one's self. Hence, dieters' attentions became more focused on achieving weight loss by natural methods.
Natural weight loss methods require a person to provide his body with calories that can be burned. What is more important is the physical activity that the person will engage in, in order to burn these calories.
By global standards and as set forth by the World Health Organization, a person who has a body mass index or BMI of more than 30 is considered as obese. BMI is the person's weight divided by his height multiplied by the conversion rate and it will indicate the amount of body mass. A person who possesses a large number of body mass means part of his mass consists of fats and not only muscles. Hence, as a natural weight loss method, the individual is expected to engage in exercises that can speed up his metabolism through calorie burning.
Natural Weight Loss Methods and Exercising for Faster Metabolism
Exercise affects metabolism in different ways, hence it is recommended as the best natural weight loss method. A person burns calories even if he does not exercise, because his body needs fuel to carry on with its regular bodily functions. He needs to take in food to supply his body with nutrients and additional calories which will serve as his energy in performing his day to day routine in terms of bodily movement. Thus, a person who takes in food in small portions but exerts much physical activity, tend to gain less mass. His body often burns much of the calories stored as fat and may sometimes need to burn additional fuel that are stored in his muscles. If he engages in additional activity like exercises, he will need to take in more calories that he could burn. Otherwise, his metabolism will use up some of the fats found in his muscle in order to sustain his physical activities.
In the same way that a person like an athlete, who is aware that he has much physical activities lined up for the day, will take in substantial amount of energy-giving food to store as fuel supply for all of his planned activities. Hence, the muscles of a person will not be depleted, since he has enough calories to burn.
Conversely, a person who continuously supplies his body with food but goes on to live a sedentary lifestyle will keep most of his calories unburned and will be stored as fat cells waiting to be burned. The lack of exercise or even normal physical activities will not help in eliminating the stored calories. The more calories stored the more fatty substances accumulate
and the more mass of fats are present. Henceforth, the person becomes obese.
In adopting natural weight loss, obese persons will be required to start their daily exercises by setting goals of losing weight by as little as a half pound every week. As soon as the obese person's body becomes accustomed to physical activity, his natural weight loss goal may increase by as much as 2 pounds every week. During these periods, the obese person is expected to eat but only in small portions, several times during the day to allow for calories to be burned.
In addition, every individual is said to be burning calories even during his time of rest. A person, who had much activity during the day, will still undergo a fast rate of metabolism since a lot of his body cells which were in use during the day will demand replenishment, repair or regeneration. Hence, this is how metabolism is boosted and will make possible losing weight through natural means.
The obese person on the other hand, who does not engage in any physical activity, will take his sleep often with more disorder. He will breathe with difficulty, since his air passages will be crowded by large amounts of fat. Metabolism processes will continue only to sustain his life giving activities but not for reparation processes.
However, if the obese person will engage in exercises, there will be additional demand for calorie burning. Since he ate only a small portion of food before retiring to bed, calories to be burned will now include the stored fats of long ago. Thus, the obese person, will slowly meet his goal of losing from a half pound, to a gradual increase of two pounds; or even up to 10 pounds, depending on how well committed he is in exercising and eating the right kinds of food.
